You wouldn't normally expect to find kids dancing and laughing in hospital but that is what was happening at Saturday's Active Day hosted by Captain Starlight and Bronco Corey Parker at the Mater Children's Hospital in Brisbane. The Active Day was attended by children from Koala Healthy Lifestyle Club.
XRGame Action was proud to supply commercial grade Cobalt Flux dance mats and a range of Game Bikes for the kids to play. It was a fantastic day with adults and children joining in the fun of learning that video games can be played with more than just your thumbs.
Attendees had the opportunity to play on a GameBike which is a full size exercise bike that acts as a video game controller. The faster you pedal the faster your on-screen character moves, you control your steering via your handlebars. Heaps of fun and quite a workout!

The kids also got to experience the latest in technology with the MagneTrainer, PCGamerBike and Therapy Trainer that are portable mini-exercise bikes that interact with PS2 or PC Games. XRGame Action will be launching this range of mini-exercise cycles in August. "Cars", "NetAthalon" PC virtual tracks and "Island Worlds" were hot favourites with the participants covering quite a few kilometres of virtual road.

Dance Dance Revolution had the music pumping and the kids jumping. We discovered that Bronco's player Corey Parker is not only good at "Mario & Sonic at the Olympics" but he is quick on his feet too, especially while playing "Dancing Stage Hottest Party" Wii's latest dance mat game.
Thank you to the Starlight Children's Foundation, Captain Starlight and the Koala at Mater Healthy Lifestyle Club for hosting a great fun event. The Koala Kids were all great sports and we laughed and played the day away.
To all the brave patients from within the hospital wards who came and joined in the fun physical activity and were distracted from their illness or injuries for a few hours, we hope you get well soon!
Thanks also to Corey Parker for being a true champ and making the kids smile.
We hope to be part of another "Active Games Day" soon.
